Nose: Clean, pronounced Black currant, balsamic, fresh almond and forest herb aromas.
Palate: Dry, Full(+) bodied. This is a rich wine with plenty of high-octane oak and ripe fruit. Spicy chocolaty black-plum and cassis flavors finish chewy and thick, with notes of mint and licorice.
Vinification: From 60-90 year old-vines fermented in a mix of French oak and stainless steel. The Carignan matured in brand new French barriques while the Garnacha was kept in larger, 1,500-liter oak foudres and terracotta amphora for 14 months.
Recommended Food Pairing: Decant this for an hour before serving at least. Serve with lamb or dry aged steaks.
