Trenzado is the village white wine from Suertes del Marqués, mostly from organically grown Listán Blanco, but also including other native varieties such as Pedro Ximenez, Albillo Criollo, Gual, Marmajuelo or Malvasia. Composed of different vineyards in the Valle de La Orotava (Canary Islands, Tenerife) ranging from 10 to 150 years old grown mostly in the traditional system of cordón trenzado (where the grape vines are braided sometimes as long as 25 feet from the base of the plant), which gives its name to this wine.
Fermented in 40% concrete tank and open buckets with skins and 60% of the must ferments in large used French oak. It is aged 20% in concrete tanks and the remainder is on its lees for 8 months in French Burgundy barrels that are 2nd and 4th year used. This wine is elegant, somewhat silky but with an underlying racy core. Delicious in every way and perfect with grilled fish, chicken dishes, or simply on its own.
