From the infamous Scala Dei winery (founded in the 1100s) this is their 100% Garnatxa from vines 15-25 years old. Fermented with indigenous yeasts and skin contact for around 16 days and aged for a further 6-8 months in stainless steel. The 2015 is in a GREAT place of its life for drinking now - red berries, subtle mineral notes, slightly fuller, somewhat “meaty” on the palate. Perfect to accompany grilled meat - venison, steaks, burgers, charcuterie like fuet, or even heavily sauced pasta dishes. Serve slightly cool if possible.
