From one of our favorite natural wine couples farming in the Baix Penedès under the infamous name Partida Creus, comes this 100-ish% Garrut (aka Monastrell). This is a wild and rustic Mediterranean red that honestly smells a little crazy when you first pop the cork. Like everything that they do, there is organic farming, no chemicals or additives, no filtering, sulfuring, etc in any part of the winemaking. Around 20 months in used French oak barrel. On the palate this is super tasty! Dark, more savory than some of their other higher-acid and leaner wines they make. Grippy, tangled red berries, sun-warmed cherries, tree bark, and a little farm-funk that keeps it interesting. Serve with a slight chill and drink with roasted eggplant caponata, or creamy garlic parmesan mushrooms.
