When we opened this bottle to taste, we had the hardest time swallowing as our jaws were practically on the floor. It was that good! If any of you have had the pleasure of drinking the other-worldly wines of Joan Asens you can attest to the ethereal nature that he brings to this high-mountain, Mediterranean-influenced region in Catalonia that we love so much. He also worked for Alvaro Palacios in Priorat for 18 years - no spring chicken here, this guy is serious business.
A blend of 90% Garnacha & 10% Cariñena, with a brighter finish, lower alcohol, and softer, floral, elegant tannins than you might expect. Only 600 cases produced. As with all of his wines, they are organically grown and with minimal intervention. Beautiful on its own or with roasted poultry or game.
