Punto G was the first wine Orly Lumbreras made from 70 year-old Garnacha at 1,100 meters altitude, fermented with whole clusters with native yeasts, and raised in used French oak for six months. Fuller, more dense and brawny than other wines from the Gredos, with many years of life ahead, Punto G displays luscious dark cherries, ripe berry skins, and savory black currant fruit, full of rich earth, dried oregano, and notes of sweet spice.
All biodyncamically farmed, completely natural and minimalist in the cellar. The texture - gravelly and soulful - comes out due to the incredibly long hang-time of the grapes to grasp on to the right level of maturity that is tricky to accomplish at such high altitudes. Grilled meats, Pan Seared Lamb Lollipops (Chops) with Rosemary, Garlic and Dijon would be tasty with this. As well as plenty of air and a slight chill on the bottle. This baby doesn't give up the goods right away, it needs a little bit to breathe and open up.
