A wine that is hard to find and way too easy to drink. Think of this as your off the beaten path almost Beaujolais style sipper. Rivière takes his organic Tempranillo grapes for La Vallada from a 2.5 hectare enclosed vineyard – Vallada meaning enclosed – at an elevation of 950m in a slightly rare DO, Arlanza. With whole clusters and natural yeast the wines essentially goes through a partial natural carbonic maceration. Aged for 12 months in neutral French oak and another 12 in tank. The result is a joy to sip - soft berries, juicy in a fun way, with a freshness not always associated with Tempranillo. Soft tannin and can take a slight chill easily. Pair with a pizza night, or with any types of casual cuisine. Cow's milk cheese is also a no-brainer too.
