We've been big fans of the Marques de Tomares winery for many years now. If you're not familiar, they are a centenary winery in Rioja Alta, still family-owned, producing some pretty outstanding wines. Their 2017 Blanco has our attention today. A sultry blend of Viura mixed with 30% Garnacha Blanca aged on its lees and then rested in French oak barrels for around 6 months. White flowers, savory orchard fruits, creamy on the finish with just the right amount of weight. Not quite bottom-heavy, but toe-tipping into voluptuous. The kind of white that is generous and perfect for snuggling up on the couch. Also a dream with roasted garlic risotto.
