A really cool, atypical Verdejo made from 27 year old vines in La Seca in the heart of Rueda DO, from a family-run 3rd generation winery - Cantalapiedra. Manuel, son to Isaac (we also have their other Verdejo in the shop too), started making this special project a few years ago experimenting with biodynamic farming, minimal intervention, no sulfur, and a little bit of skin-contact fermented in stainless steel.
The wine is a hazy (unfiltered) straw hue, with some aromas of baked bread and slight reduction (that blows off quickly) followed by the most delicious cotrus and pineapple flavors on the palate. A total joy to drink, for lovers of natural wines or for a byob with spicy Thai food!
