Daterra Viticultores - Laura Lorenzo "Portela do Vento" 2017 (Magnum)
Varieties: 90% Mencía, 10% Garnacha Tintorera.
Appearance: Deep, yet transparent, violet.
Nose: Beautiful aromas of dark berries, wild flowers, & minerals.
Palate: This wine is absolutely delicious! A lighter-bodied, youthful wine that could handle a chill with ease. Lots of lip-smacking berries, great acidity, and super clean on the finish.
Vinification: Organically farmed in the Amandi and Val do Bibei subzones. The grapes were harvested by hand in late September, 80% destemmed and fermented with wild yeasts in steel vats, and raised for 9 months in used 500 liter French barrels. This is Laura’s “glou-glou” wine that she loves to share. Only 2,657 bottles (and 110 Mags) are made and a total shop-favorite and a MUST for anyone geeking out of Galician wine.
