Daterra Viticultores (Laura Lorenzo) "Camino de la Frontera" Tinto 2017
A new wine from Laura Lorenzo, from a far off region we hardly see production from. This is mostly a local variety Juan Garcia, co-planted and co-fermented with Tempranillo, Bobal, Rufete, Mencía, Garnacha, and more from 100-130 year-old vines in the town of Fermoselle, in a region called Arribes del Duero (right next to Portugal, south of Galicia). Deeper than some of her other wines - this is slightly brambly berries and brawny textured, with balanced acidity and an undoubtedly thirst-quenching core. Serve with a slight chill and have this with some herbed sausage on the grill.
