One of the most balanced and harmonious Priorats for sure in this price point but also just in general. A blend of Samsó (Carignan) and Garnacha from vineyards in Bellmunt. Spontaneously fermented in stainless steel and concrete and aged for 12 months in French oak barrels of 225 and 500 litres. Part of the barrels are new, some are two years old. Deep and savory with hints of Mediterranean brushwood, garrigue, some ripe fruits and a supple (yet not overbearing) finish. Some might call it a “Priorat-lite” in the sense that it packs all of the quality flavors but in an easy to drink way. It opens up quickly and is a joy with grilled meats, calçot with romesco, or mushroom cannelloni.
