Bodegas Bilbaínas "Viña Zaco" Rioja Reserva 1981

  • Robert Parker rates the 1981 vintage in Rioja 92 points & "Outstanding."

Bodegas Bilbainas was founded in 1859 by the Savignon Frères et Cie. Family in Rioja Alta. This wine is a lighter ruby color with a brick rim and a medium body. The nose starts with complex medley of sweet strawberry and dried cherry with hints of truffle, leather and tobacco; followed by preserved cherry and creamy strawberry flavors with a bright, long red apple and tobacco toned finish. Delicate, silky and vibrant. Have this with veal or a pork chop.
