Nose: Clean, medium intense elegant black fruit notes; leather & toasted vanilla notes.
Palate: There's a lot to like here: assertive, flavorsome black cherry and plum fruits are dressed in cedary fresh oak. The right feel for the reserva grade. Dry. Elegant, with good acidity, pronounced tannins & a persistent finish.
Vinification: Aged 24 months in French & American oak (with light-to-medium toast), 12 months in bottle. As with all wines that Alejandro makes, this is made naturally and bottles unfined and unfiltered. Rumors might be true, this could technically be the last vintage that he made, before retiring and leaving the winemaking in his very talented daughter's hands. Making the 2012 a collector bottle for the cellar.
