Appearance: Cherry red color very covered with violet trim.
Nose: Intensity very high, concentrated and surprisingly floral. The notes of ripe black fruit accompanied by hints of embers.
Palate: Full-bodied and luscious. Considered the top Cabernet made in Spain. Plenty of strength and volume. Elegant without a doubt and much more harmonious than it appears. Fruit and balsamic flavors that end in spicy. Delicious.
Vinification: Located on the famous "golden mile," the Abadía Retuerta farm covers just over 700 hectares of forest and vineyard that are bathed by the Douro River, near the town of Sardón de Duero. Born in the highest plots of the estate, it has been aged in French oak barrels for 22 months. Only 6,800 bottles produced. Drinking nicely now, or for the next 10 years to follow.
Recommended Food Pairing: Braised beef, rich stews, brisket, or on a snowy cold late winter evening.
